Sanicle,
a beautiful comeback

Name: Sanicle
Latin name: Sanicula europaea
Location: France
Type: Plant
Part(s) used: Shoot system

An essential of the Middle Ages

Sanicle is found in Europe in the shade of undergrowth, which it brightens with its immaculate flowers in the spring. In the Middle Ages, the first medical ‘school’ in the West, Schola Medica Salernitana, classified it as a cure-all. It calms upset stomachs and works wonders on burns, wounds and bruises. In the early 20th century, its reputation declined, only to come back stronger a short time later in the cosmetic field.

Cosmetic effectiveness

Strengthened antioxidant system

In cosmetics, organic Sanicle extract helps protect the skin from the harmful effects of free radicals.

The Clarins Anti-Pollution Complex

A unique combination of four plant extracts to protect the skin from damage that may be caused by both interior and exterior urban pollutants: extracts of organic African Ebony, Furcellaria, Succory Dock-Cress and organic Sanicle.
